How to Change YouTube External Links
You can add external links to your video descriptions, but there are some guidelines you need to follow:
Eligibility: To add external links in your video descriptions, your YouTube channel must be eligible. Typically, this means that your channel needs to be part of the YouTube Partner Program and have a certain number of subscribers.
Verified Website: If your channel is eligible, you can link to an associated website. Your website needs to be associated and verified through your YouTube Studio account.
Linking Best Practices:
- Place the external link near the top of your video description for better visibility.
- Use a clear call-to-action (e.g., "Visit my website for more information").
- Avoid using misleading or spammy language.
- Only link to relevant websites or content related to the video.
Shortened Links: Avoid using link shorteners as they can be flagged as suspicious. Use the full, direct URL.
Please note that YouTube's policies and guidelines can change over time, so I recommend checking the latest YouTube Help Center or Community Guidelines for the most up-to-date information regarding external links on the platform. Also, be aware of any changes in YouTube's policies since my last update in January 2022.
